THE PRETTY GOOD GIRL
Maybe you're used to flying under the radar like Bethany Joy Lenz's character, Haley. All the more reason to bust out some serious lipstick and grab some of that attention for yourself. "Wearing bright colors on my lips is one of my favorite things to do," says Bethany. But don't go overboard. Stick to a shimmery blush on the apples of your cheeks and a curling mascara on your lashes. And not that it's always about boys, but would there be anything wrong with landing a Nathan of your own? We think not.

PRO TIP: With shades of lipstick this intense, anything crazy shiny starts to border on tacky, says celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose. Use a formula that has more of a matte finish and then add a dab of gloss to the center of your lips to give them just a bit to shine.

ON BETHANY: Sweater, Twinkle by Wenlan; earrings, Calico Juno Designs.

THE WILD PARTY CHILD

Hey, no surprise---Sophia Bush, who plays uber-popular up-for-anything Brooke, totally embraces the idea of bold, sexy eye makeup. She shares her character's confidence, plus she's a total beauty nut. "I have more makeup than half the makeup artist I know," says Sophia. "I collect it. Makeup is like shoes to me." She also happens to love wearing bright shades on her eyes. But remember, when you're spotlighting your eyes in a big way, keep the rest of your makeup simple with a little pink blush. We're guessing Sophia's real-life fiancée, Chad Michael Murray, will be quite pleased with the results.

PRO TIP: Nick says you should line the inner rims of your eyes with a purply-blue pencil. Then dab a couple of shades of metallic lilac shadows along the lash lines and blend them together when a Q-tip. The different tones will give you a cool three-dimensional effect.

ON SOPHIA: Sweater, Gauge; jeans, Gap; earrings, Peggy Li.

THE COMMITMENT-PHOBE

First Hilarie Burton's Peyton dated the rich and popular Nathan, then his loner half-brother, Lucas, and now there may be a new guy on the scene. She just can't seem to make up her mind---which any of us can totally relate to. If you're feeling skittish about jumping into a relationship with some blush. You still get the point across, but it's not as major as the intense lips or eyes (keep those neutral with a bronzy cream eye shadow and a nude gloss). Hilarie was a huge fan of the NARS shade we chose for this picture. "I would totally use this color again, " she says. "I have big cheeks, so I need blush!"

PRO TIP: Believe it or not, orange blush is more bendable (and less likely to make you look like Raggedy Ann) than bright pink. Blend a cream version onto your cheeks, and then lightly dust a powder type in a similar shade on top for staying power.

ON HILARIE: Top and jacket, both Marc by Marc Jacobs; earrings, Elyssa B. Design.
