NOVEMBER 2008

11.03.08  - CHAD TALKS TO TVGUIDE.COM
Chad Michael Murray did an interview with Matt Mitovich at TVGuide.com where he talks about why the final choice for Lucas had to be Peyton and working with James Van Der Beek. He also informs us all that we can expect a wedding this season! Could it be Lucas and Peyton's? Or in typical One Tree Hill fashion... another couple?

CW SOURCE INTERVIEW WITH HILARIE BURTON: PART 2
The CW Source has finally posted the second half of Jason C.'s interview with Hilarie Burton on the set of One Tree Hill from this summer. HILARIE BURTON ON LITTLE BRITAIN USA
Apparently the episode of Little Britain USA, in which Hilarie Burton guest-starred as a lesbian college student, aired last night as the Season Finale. If you missed the episode, we'll keep you posted as to when it will re-air on HBO.

Hopefully someone will post Hilarie's clips on YouTube! Thanks Lexi!

MARK SCHWAHN JOINS MELROSE PLACE 2.0?!
... Besides a decent premise, Locklear should also hold out until the series has someone decent in charge. Or someone, period. Darren Star, who created the original, has apparently passed. Now CW president Dawn Ostroff is looking internally for a boss, sources say. One Tree Hill creator Mark Schwahn, who just inked an overall deal with CBS/Paramount, the studio behind Melrose 2.0, is one name being bandied about. The exec confirms that he's been approached, but adds, "That doesn't mean I'm on [Dawn's] short list. It's kind of natural they'd call." Is he even interested? "Never say never…though I'm more about creating something new. I'm the guy to call when they want to remake One Tree Hill."

Question 1: Is it true that someone will be pregnant on One Tree Hill?

11.07.08  - A NOTE ABOUT THE ELECTION
As you know by now, BARACK OBAMA was elected as the 44th President of the United States on Tuesday night! It was a very, very historical night - that might even be an understatement - for our country.

We're proud to know that a large portion of the votes were done by the younger generation who got out there and used their voice to better our country. It's not even about whether or not the candidate you supported "won", it was just important that you all voted. Those who could anyway.

Voting is so very important and every voice should be heard.

EXCLUSIVE PICTURES FROM EPISODE #6.11
TVGuide.com posted some 'Fabulous 40's' images of the cast of One Tree Hill from episode #6.11! They're definitely worth checking out and they're not really spoiler-ish considering we all knew it was going to be a 1940's theme. You can still avoid seeing larger images if you wish.

If a picture is worth what they say, I've got 3,000 very pretty words to share with you.

TVGuide.com has obtained a trio of exclusive photos from the Nov. 17 episode of the CW's "One Tree Hill". That outing, as many of you know, was penned by cast member Chad Michael Murray himself.

Entitled "We Three (My Echo, My Shadow and Me)," the out-of-the-box, Casablanca-style episode finds Karen's Café transformed into a circa-1940s nightclub run by Lucas. To go with the theme, Murray, leading lady Hilarie Burton et al will portray retro versions of their Tree Hill selves — donning cool duds and glam garb in the process.

Click here to see GORGEOUS photos of Chad, Hilarie, James, Joy, and Antwon as their characters in the 1940's! We can't wait for the episode!

ALL "HILL" BREAKS LOOSE!
An article on One Tree Hill's currently sixth season is featured in a four-page spread of this weeks issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine (November 14, 2008) with Rob Pattinson and Kristen Stewart of Twilight on three (3) collectible covers!

Chad, James, Hilarie, Joy, and Sophia also took a very sexy photo in a 1940's setting - for Chad's upcoming noir episode - to accompany the article. Click here to see a scan of the photo that's been floating around online.

Wow -- you can really see how much the cast has grown up over the years! We'll have scans of the entire article later tonight.

NEW HILARIE BURTON INTERVIEW
The Sudbury Star, an Ontario, CA newspaper, has posted a lovely, but brief interview with One Tree Hill's Hilarie Burton about this weeks upcoming OTH episode centered around the USO concert. You can read the interview below.

Q: This week's episode of "One Tree Hill" has your character, Peyton, staging a USO show for Marines. How did that come about?
A: In August 2007, my childhood friend and kind of mentor died in Iraq. In every play I did growing up, he was the male lead, and I was "the girl." I was looking for a way to come to terms with the loss, and my father is an ex-Green Beret, so I gave my agent and manager a heads-up that I was looking for a way to become involved with the military. Last summer, they got a phone call asking, "Do you have any clients interested in doing a USO show in Cuba?" They were like, "Hilarie!" It felt very good to go and hang out with the troops, then ("One Tree Hill" creator-producer) Mark Schwahn found out I had gone and how much it meant to me. He asked, "Is this something you want to keep to yourself, or something you want to incorporate into the show?" I jumped at the chance to bring a broader audience to (recognize) the importance of the USO, just that boost in morale.

Q: Did other factors make this a natural story line for Peyton to have?
A:
She randomly has a brother who's a Marine, which was scripted way before any of this came into play. The pieces were all there, and it just worked out very, very well. It was very special for me to watch my entire crew do this. It was a really big, pretty much live show, which is completely different from shooting episodic television. Everybody rallied.

NEW MUSIC FROM BETHANY JOY GALEOTTI!
No wonder Bethany Joy Galeotti felt so at home singing with Grace Potter on the October 20th episode of One Tree Hill. Joy is working on new music... as part of a duo! Joy and her friend/fellow musician, Amber Sweeney have started the band EVERLY.

Check out this message from Joy and Amber:

Everly is birthed of a friendship and a sisterhood that’s been many years in the making, and we are proud to present this short collection of music as a "teaser" for what is to come.

Thank you for buying our first “record.” We hope we will find a fond place in your heart and that you will join us as we embark on a new musical journey.

Bless You All!
– Amber & Bethany

Everly performed at the One Tree Hill/USO concert in September, although we're not sure any of that footage makes it into the episode. Someone did post a video of it here at YouTube though.

You can currently listen to three of their songs at their Official MySpace, or purchase their "Mission Bell" EP through CDBaby or iTunes! So far the music sounds amazing -- we can't wait to hear more!

11.10.08  - ONE TREE HILL: TV'S CRAZIEST SHOW?
EW.com has posted the article about the crazy antics of One Tree Hill that they have featured in this weeks issue of Entertainment Weekly (November 14, 2008 with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, the stars of Twilight on the cover). You can read a little bit of it below. The issue is on newsstands now!

... That what-the-hell approach has served the show well. One Tree Hill has outlived its zeitgeistier contemporaries, survived a network merger, and defied cranky critics by mixing just the right amount of crazy sauce (did we mention the nanny also chased a kid through a cornfield?) into its patented comfort-food, familiar formula. The most shocking twist of all? Its ratings have actually grown over the last two seasons at a time when most series' audiences are shrinking; it's up more than 20 percent over last year, averaging 3.6 million viewers this season on Mondays at 9 p.m., and beating its super-buzzy lead-in, Gossip Girl.

SOPHIA BUSH IS "EMBARRASSED" BY PROP 8 PASSAGE
So, we've all heard the news about California passing Proposition 8 which will ban Gay and Lesbian marriages. We know this is very difficult news for many people and Sophia Bush is speaking out on EOnline.com about her feelings toward Prop 8. "I'm really proud to be an American," the One Tree Hill star said of the election of Barack Obama, "and I'm embarrassed to be a Californian right now."

You can watch the video of Sophia talking about the subject below.

THE CW SOURCE TALKS TO ASHLEY RICKARDS & MARK SCHWAH!
The CW Source has finally posted their first interview with Ashley Rickards who is currently playing Brooke's troubled foster-teen, Sam. Considering this interview was done back in the summer when The CW Source paid a visit to One Tree Hill's Wilmington, N.C. set -- Ashley at the time couldn't reveal too much to Jason C. about her character. Ashley did reveal some stuff about herself and life in Wilmington!

While Ashley couldn't say too much about Sam... Mark Schwahn could! Mark comments on how the character of Samantha is introduced, and how she's much different from the way Mia was in Season 5. You can watch these interviews below by clicking the links provided below the videos.

CHAD PRESSES TO GO FROM HUNK TO HYPHENATE
Chad Michael Murray is in a full court press to go from hunk to hyphenate. The 27-year-old "One Tree Hill" hottie penned Monday's (11/17) unusual episode for his series, and he's directing another episode now. It's all part of his plan "to take this year and make the best of it, do everything I could with it, here in season six -- to learn production inside and outside. I'm definitely doing it full on. Last month was absolutely insane, being up late hours, not sleeping ..."

Murray says he came up with the idea for Monday's show a couple of years ago, but it wasn't 'til this year that it found its place on the schedule. In the episode, his character, Lucas, is watching "Casablanca" one night and starts thinking about himself and his friends and how they would be in the 1940s -- which leads to a whole scenario with the group in the period.

CHAD IN THIS WEEKS "MEGA MINUTE"
TVGuide.com has posted yet another interview with Chad Michael Murray for this weeks Mega Minute! Chad discusses an unexpected wrinkle in One Tree Hill's plan for an extremely special episode. You can watch the interview below or by clicking here.

"ONE TREE HILL" & USO TEAM UP!
The CW network’s hit drama filmed a live concert featuring Angels & Airwaves and Kate Voegele, with military personnel in attendance at the Marine Corps Air Station New River in Jacksonville, North Carolina, in September.

In a case of life imitating art, the One Tree Hill/USO concert has been integrated into a storyline for the Nov. 10th episode. Called “Even Fairy Tale characters Would Be Jealous,” the show has Payton (Hilarie Burton), owner of her own record label, producing a USO concert at a Marine base where her brother is stationed.

One Tree Hill cast members Sophia Bush and Chad Michael Murray, along with Hilarie Burton were in attendance, and enjoyed the concert with all the military personnel. Castmate Bethany Joy Galeotti, along with Enation, also performed. A highlight of the event was the alternative rock group Angels & Airwaves. One Tree Hill recurring guest star Kate Voegele, currently on a nationwide University of Phoenix Tour, was also a featured performer of “USOTH.”

UNCW PROF MAKES MUSIC FOR 'ONE TREE HILL'
Congrats to UNCW's Jerald Shynett, who arranged music that will be used on the Nov. 17 episode of "One Tree Hill." Titled "We Three, My Echo, My Shadow and Me," this episode of the show is being done film-noir style and was written by one of the show's stars, Chad Michael Murray.

Music by University of North Carolina Wilmington assistant professor Jerald Shynett will be featured in the Nov. 17 "One Tree Hill" episode "We Three, My Echo, My Shadow and Me."

Shynett said, "Normally, they would assign these tasks to L.A. studio writers and musicians, but Beth Crookham (the show's assistant producer who requested Shynett) convinced them otherwise, and we are eternally grateful. It took a good deal of legwork to bring it all together with schedules, writing, rehearsing, recording and editing. Beth was there through the whole process. What great ears she has!"

CHAD TALKS ABOUT WRITING, WILMY & SEASON 7
Check out this new interview with Chad!

Q: So this is almost like an alternate "One Tree Hill" 1940s universe? -- A: It is, it really is. The great thing is what I did is I wanted to establish that it is "One Tree Hill" and by doing that I took a lot of the relationships and I even took quotes over the last six seasons and I re-used them throughout this episode, little like hints to say, "Hey, remember when this was said or remember when this was done?" And, "Haley and Nathan, they love the rain," and just different little things that have happened throughout the last six years to just kind make it a little bit more homier of a vibe even though it’s in the '40s. So it’s fun. I like it.

A video of behind the scenes footage from the episode is also included with the interview. Read the full interview here.

CW SOURCE INTERVIEW - CHAD MICHAEL MURRAY
Another day, another CW Source interview released with a cast member from One Tree Hill! This time Jason C. caught up (on set!) with Chad Michael Murray to discuss Chad writing an episode for the show. You can watch the interview below or by clicking here. As we said before, we really can't wait to see how the episode turns out! It'll definitely be something new for the show.

11.14.08  - EXCLUSIVE EPISODE #6.11 SET PHOTOS!
StarNewsOnline.com has gotten their hands on some exclusive interior and exterior photos from the set of episode #6.11 "We Three (My Echo, My Shadow and Me". A lot of the shots are from inside the 1940's re-design of Karen's Cafe, but there are even some story-board images! You can view them all at once in our photo gallery! They're really cool, so definitely check them out.

After searching a month and a half for the perfect place to shoot a 1940s dance club, Production Designer Alan Hook and Art Director Bill Davis decided Wilmington just didn’t have what they were looking for.

So, with only two weeks left to transform teen drama "One Tree Hill," which is set in the present day, into a film noir gangster show, they built the club themselves. Or, at least, the interior of a nightclub.

It took about 40 carpenters and 15 scenic artists to get the job done on deadline inside a soundstage at EUE/Screen Gems on North 23rd Street. Davis said the total number of crew usually working on a job like this is only about 12.

And everything had to be period-acurate, from the bottles on the bar to the lighting fixtures on the walls.

"Normally, we have four soundstages filled with sets that are...what we call our permanent sets that we go back to on a regular basis from episode to episode," Hook said. "And for the most part, at least 50 percent of an episode will be in those sets, on average. But on this one ...start to finish, it was like doing a whole new show. A whole new series or something."

HILARIE BURTON AT THE TRL FINALE
Last night we watched as MTV VJ's Carson Daly, Damien Fahey, and Hilarie Burton, as well as music artists like the Backstreet Boys, Beyoncé, 'NSYNC, Snoop Dogg, Christina Aguilera, Fall Out Boy, and Korn (plus more of our favorite MTV VJ's and performers) said 'farewell' to MTV's fan-requested music video countdown TRL aka Total Request Live.

After 10 years airing on the network, the live series came to a close in the heart of New York City's Times-Square where so many fans lined-up for the finale that it looked like New Year's Eve!

Hilarie looked gorgeous as she partied with the stars and her former co-workers (she also made sure to hit up Damien's finale wrap party after the show)! If you missed any part of it, check out the video below that someone put together of all of Hil's scenes from last night.

CHAD TEASES A STUNNING ONE TREE HILL
Chad Michael Murray gives you a preview at tonights episode of One Tree Hill (which he wrote) in TVGuide.com's second part of their interview with the actor. In the interview Chad details how the idea to situate the show's characters in the 1940s came to be, which of his co-stars he feels "really brought it" for the episode, and what the episode has in common with Episode 7 from this season.

ASHLEY RICKARDS: THE LATEST OTH CAST MEMBER
16-year-old Ashley Rickards, who joined the cast of One Tree Hill this season, visited the CW11 Morning News studios in New York City to talk about her character "Sam". Ashley's character has been taken in as a foster-teen by the character of "Brooke" (played by Sophia Bush).

Watch the video below (or click here) to watch Ashley explain her storyline. The CW11 also noticed a sister-ly resemblance between Ashley and Morning News anchor, Jill Nicolini.

11.22.08  - QUICK NOTE
Hey everyone!
Sorry for the lack of updates for the past couple of days... but, we're actually not here to tell you there will be more up. We're going out of town for the next week to celebrate Thanksgiving with family. We will try and get on here to post a quick One Tree Hill update and the music though! See you in December!

NOTE:
The November 24th episode of One Tree Hill will be the last new episode until January 5th!

In closing... GO SEE "TWILIGHT"! Sorry, had to throw that in there. :-)

DID OTH LET YOU DOWN?

We stumbled across this mini-review from TVGuide.com of this past weeks new episode! Apparently it was their "Biggest Letdown" -- Uh oh!

One Tree Hill's throwback to 1940s cinema turns out more cheesy than classy. Nathan and Haley's love story shines, but making Mouth a drunk, Owen a cop and Peyton indebted to Dan doesn't advance the season a bit.

That's one opinion, but what did YOU think?

11.27.08  - HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

We're still in Florida and having a wonderful time, but we wanted to check in with all of you to wish you a very HAPPY THANKSGIVING! We would like to give you thanks for helping make OneTreeHillWeb.net so successful these last six seasons and we're keeping our fingers crossed for a seventh.

Since, we're on vacation we won't be updating the site... including the music. But, don't you worry -- it'll be updated Monday and Tuesday. :)

Be thankful and enjoy your day with your families!
